325 miles and home

by Becca44 @ Monday, Apr. 30, 2007 - 04:19:12 pm

About a week ago i was asked, while standing in Shaun's kitchen, if i would like to go down to Linkenshire, to watch a couple of his friends race at Cadwell Park. My answer was of corse YES :D... So at 8.30 we were leaving Stoke and heading down in the car to watch the bikes race all day!

We arrived just in time to see G, doing a qualifying race. After watching the bikes a little longer we went to see G and Bendy, who i had never met before but seem nice people :) Sadly the other lad who was to race that weekend had come off on a track day before and could not race :(. Anyway after seeing the qualifying one we got onto the more serious racing, The powerbikes and the Superteens were amazing to watch.. espechally to see a 13 year old kid get on a bike (the bike was almost bigger than him) and lead the race! 8| It backs up what i have been saying.. Kids have NO fear!!!!

Anyway it was a great day out, id do it again tomorrow if only i could but i think 325 miles is a little excessive for every weekend ;)

Bowling in South Wales

by Becca44 @ Monday, Apr. 23, 2007 - 11:10:36 pm

Wales may be a little far to go for a game of bowling, concidering when i live in Staffordshire. But on saturday me and Shaun headed to Stourbridge to meet Ann and Jon and start the drive to South Wales in Jon's car.

I feel that i should explain at this point that we were all going to meet a group of people off BCF who had organised a game of bowling for us all. It was soon decided that the group would be split into two, one for the slightly rusty and one for the more profeshionals ;) The game was great fun, even if we managed to breck the lane a few times :p

After this it was decided to go to a pub quoted as the ' best pub in the world' by Ann. The bikes took the lead as we started to follow in the car. All i can say is that Jon's car can shift and we soon found ourselves in the middle of a rideout :-/ Best bit would have to be when we over took three of the bikes on a roundabout .. to the disbelief of many of them! 8|

Well the pub indeed was one of the best that i have ever been to, including a very nice beer called 'Worky Ticket' - very smoth and went down a little too easy!

Well after all the excitement of Saturday you might think that we would have had enough excitement for the weekend. But oww no we still had the carwash to do! 8| Well i think you can all emagine what is involved with a car wash.. so i will not bore you with the details. But at the end of the day we managed to have raised £160 8|:D:D

Larry the lamb

by Becca44 @ Thursday, Apr. 19, 2007 - 11:02:48 pm

So its the last weekend of mine and Shaun's holidays, lovely weather... so what better than to head to Wales in the car for a weekend full of well - fun (no comments here please, it is a family site! ;) )

After meeting my parents, who were on their way back from the cottage, at one of the nicest pubs that i have been to for a while we finaly got to the cottage, to find a 4 day old lamb. We nickamed him Larry, athough the little boy who was helping his mum to look after Larry had called him Euwan, which oddly is his name too  bless

Anyway the weekend was amazing, and although it was relaxed we did a lot. We went to the local town, did a lot of walks and went to the beach.

Anyway we headed home, after getting caught in the holiday traffic comming home, seeing two crashes (bike and a car) and having police cars weaving in between us in the jam... obviosly checking us out.

Anyway after that Shaun rode home, for work in the morning.. this i have to say was an event in its self 8|

Land of the windmill and tulips

by Becca44 @ Monday, Apr. 09, 2007 - 04:56:43 pm

4 days in Holland.. traveling through France and Belgium to get there was actually really good! We saw tuplips gallore in the 'Keukenhof', which i have to admit were brillient. I honnestly didnt know that you could produce so many different arrangements of tulips spread across a large park.

As we were in Holland and traditionally holland is known for its windmills (nowadays i have to say it seems to be drugs!) we had to see some, and well holland is still full of them. The best place though was a small area of herratage where they had kept about 20 of them in working order. These were in such a small area that it was almost unbelievable... and they had not been moved they had originally been built that close to each other! 8|.

Anyway it was all very nice ... although i would have to mention that the dutch road system is rather odd... oww and the roads all lock up come rush hour!!!! Its pedal bikes, scooters, mopeds and motorbikes that seem to rule there! (mainly pedal bikes actually)!
